QI2025 workshop: Quantitative Immunology
Workshop, Irving Institute for Cancer Dynamics (IICD), 2025
This workshop was organized by Dr. Sanket Rane - an associate research scientist at IICD, and former member of the Yates Lab. In this 3 hour workshop, Sanket gave an overview of quantitative modeling in immunology, with a primary focus on dynamical models, how these can be trained with modern high-dimensional data and machine learning, and what kind of inferences can be made using such models. I contributed with a 30 minute lecture and code demo on conditional variational autoencoders.
The workshop covered topics like ordinary differential equations, Bayesian inference, modeling cell labeling experiments, spatial stochastic modeling, manifold learning, and trajectory inference. Participants were invited to run code provided for the workshop and recreate results shown during the lectures.
Jupyter notebooks with all the course material and exercises are available on github
